A Special Encounter in Bangalore: Haakman Flowerbulbs Presents a Yellow Tulip at HortiConnect India 2026
Bangalore, India – september 2026
A special and unforgettable day for Haakman Flowerbulbs B.V. during HortiConnect India / AgriCon India 2026 in Bangalore. This international event brought together numerous representatives from the horticulture sector, the business community, and the government, providing an excellent platform to further strengthen the ties between the Netherlands and India.
Haakman Flowerbulbs was proudly present at this international trade fair, where we were guests at the booth of our valued business partner. Indam Seeds uit Bangalore, India.
A Special Encounter and a Yellow Tulip
An absolute highlight of the event was the personal meeting between D.J. Haakman and Shri D.K. Shivakumar, a prominent official of the Indian state of Karnataka.
During this special occasion, D.J. Haakman had the honor of personally shaking his hand and presenting a beautiful yellow tulip.
The tulip was received with great interest and a warm smile. An extra special moment followed when Shri D.K. Shivakumar later proudly wore the yellow tulip in his breast pocket.
For us as a Dutch flower bulb company, this was a beautiful and symbolic gesture. The tulip, a globally recognized symbol of Dutch floriculture, thereby received a special place during this international meeting.
The Netherlands and India: Building a Strong Future Together
Another impressive moment was the joint ribbon-cutting ceremony, where Shri D.K. Shivakumar and the Dutch representative Silvio Erkens cut the orange ribbon together.
This symbolic moment underscored the strong ties between the Netherlands and India and the importance of international cooperation in the fields of horticulture, innovation and trade.
For Haakman Flowerbulbs, these international contacts are of great value. We believe in building sustainable relationships, sharing knowledge, and jointly developing new opportunities for the flower bulb and horticulture sector.
A Day to Look Back on With Pride
Our presence at HortiConnect India / AgriCon India 2026 was not only valuable from a business perspective, but also a special personal experience.
We look back on this beautiful day in Bangalore with great pride and gratitude. The meetings, the warm welcome, and especially the special moment when a Dutch yellow tulip was presented, will stay with us for a long time.
On behalf of Haakman Flowerbulbs B.V., we would like to thank Indam Seeds and everyone involved for this special occasion and their hospitality.
A small yellow tulip, a grand moment for international connection!
